INTRODUCTION TO PROTECTIVE COATINGS

What first began as a means to repel graffiti on trains has become one of the greatest advancements in how we care for and protect our vehicles, both interior and exterior.

Coatings not only provide a level of scratch resistance,

they provide a slick surface, making it difficult for contaminates to bond and etch into.

This added repellency makes maintenance an easier and less frequent process.

A good quality coating will also protect a surface from fading and discolouration due to Australia's harsh UV climate.

PREPARING THE PAINT FOR COATING

To achieve a long lasting bond of coating to paint, the surface must be carefully and thoroughly decontaminated of ferrous metal particles, road tar, mineral deposits and other organic sediments.

New vehicles require decontamination as they're exposed to contamination during storage and transportation. Minor paint correction is also undertaken before coating is applied to remove minor scratches from improper washing & drying techniques at dealerships.

Sometimes further correction is required depending on the condition of the vehicle.
